OMS in unavailable – Backend WLS or EM application seems to be down
When i tried to run again my test machine (vmware), started up database and OMS, and i tried to launch oms console to log into it i spotted new error:

Backend WLS or EM application seems to be down

I thing this are repercussion of my day ago end of work… I don’t have time to gracefully shut down machines so i just turned off power. And now i have new error to learn about it…

I trying to locate Admin-Console for weblogic server

I never know where config file of weblogic admin server is located… I always searching for it … lol
Let’s try default…
https://oem12c:7101/console
Unable to connect :/

Let’s do a fast-search:

[oracle@localhost ~]$ lsof | grep LISTEN | grep :7
java 5345 oracle 477u IPv6 17513 0t0 TCP localhost.localdomain:7404 (LISTEN)
java 5417 oracle 618u IPv6 17937 0t0 TCP localhost.localdomain:7102 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7337 oracle 3u IPv6 22898 0t0 TCP *:7789 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7337 oracle 5u IPv6 22904 0t0 TCP *:7801 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7375 oracle 3u IPv6 22898 0t0 TCP *:7789 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7375 oracle 5u IPv6 22904 0t0 TCP *:7801 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7377 oracle 3u IPv6 22898 0t0 TCP *:7789 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7377 oracle 5u IPv6 22904 0t0 TCP *:7801 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7378 oracle 3u IPv6 22898 0t0 TCP *:7789 (LISTEN)
httpd.wor 7378 oracle 5u IPv6 22904 0t0 TCP *:7801 (LISTEN)
java 11062 oracle 1963u IPv6 40134 0t0 TCP localhost.localdomain:7302 (LISTEN)

Hmmm… 7102 looks familiar – let’s try?

Oh, weblogic console is available!

Here is another, more normal helpful method to catch listen-port:

[oracle@localhost ~]$ find /u01 -name config.xml | xargs grep "listen-port" | grep Domain/config
/u01/app/oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/config.xml: <listen-port>7102</listen-port>
/u01/app/oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/config.xml: <listen-port-enabled>false</listen-port-enabled>
/u01/app/oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/config.xml: <listen-port>7302</listen-port>
/u01/app/oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/config.xml: <listen-port>7203</listen-port>
/u01/app/oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/config.xml: <listen-port-enabled>false</listen-port-enabled>
/u01/app/oracle/gc_inst/user_projects/domains/GCDomain/config/config.xml: <listen-port>7404</listen-port>

After login – Ups… EMGC_OMS are in SHUTDOWN state?

After login (standard weblogic/ your password)
Come to left side and select from menu:
GCDomain -> Enviroment -> Servers.
Ups… EMGC_OMS are in SHUTDOWN state?

Let’s repair it – Mark checkbox near EMGC_OMS1 and click on Start button.

Let’s repair it – select tab “Control” (upper).
Mark checkbox near EMGC_OMS1 and click on Start button.

Confirm start

Confirm start.

EMGC_OM1 is starting…

You will see confirmation: “A request has been sent to the Node Manager to start the selected servers”.
State will change to “STARTING” and Status of Last Action to “TASK IN PROGRESS“.
This is important: there are a 2 arrows uper table – click on them – they will move (animation). This will refresh page and amount of time passed will be displayed.

Server is started

After few minutes State will change to RUNNING and Status of Last Action will change to “TASK COMPLETED“.

oem12c is available.

Let’s back to oms login page – click on retry…
You will be able to log into Enterprise Manager – Oracle Cloud 12c again!

PS. There are other method to repair – kill servers + oms and delete .lok files and re-run oms.
